BRIDAL/FASHION COURSE

Introductory course for anyone wanting to be a bridal and photographic makeup artist

Prerequisites:

No previous training required

Course content

  • Introduction to health and safety, product knowledge including brushes
  • Colour theory and makeup for black and white photography.
  • Correction of lips
  • Identifying correct foundation colours – tone – shade and use of different types of foundations and concealers
  • Determining faceshapes and how to correct using contouring
  • Eyebrow shaping
  • Application of lashes (full strip – individuals)
  • Application of eyeliners
  • Blush and bronzer application – powders and crèmes
  • Identifying eyeshapes and corrective eyeshadow techniques
  • Make-up to suit asian features
  • Classic, natural bridal makeup and creating glowing skin.
  • Technique for smokey eyes – soft smokey for bridal and rock chic smokey for editorial
  • Use of coloured eyeshadows – for fashion/editoral work
  • Mature make-up
  • Camouflage makeup to hide tattoos

This course includes a shopping day to help you build your make-up kit. A student discount will apply at leading participating make-up stores.

ADVANCED FASHION

For anyone really serious about working in fashion, catwalk and editorial. It will give you a competitive edge over other make-up artists.

Advanced fashion bootcamp 6 CONSECUTIVE DAYS 10am - 4pm

Course content

  • Contouring will be re-hashed, by using a technique that is advanced and used extensively in fashion photographic work.
  • Makeup through the ages: 1920's, 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s & 1980's, which will be turned into fashion inspirations.
  • Achieve the perfect 'wet' look make-up for a swimsuit shoot
  • Avante Guarde make-up for the catwalk, exploring your creative side inspired by current fashion designers
  • Guest lecturer - Make-up Artist RACHEL MONTGOMERY (Make-up artist of the Year 2011 & 2012) will demonstrate different editorial and beauty looks. Rachel Montogomery is at the forefront of her career and her work appears in just about every magazine
  • This course concludes with a photographic shoot with a professional photographer in a photographic studio. The student is required to fulfill a make-up brief designing their own make-up for the shoot. You will receive professional images of your work on a disc for your portfolio

AIRBRUSH COURSE

Specialising in high definition for TV, Fashion, Catwalk and Bridal

Prerequisites:

Bridal/Fashion course or its equivalent

All participants are required to have their own airbrush equipment.
Kits are available at the school for $350.00
All make-up used in class is provided by MMM

$200 to secure your place in the class. The balance is payable before the first class commences

Course content

  • Airbrush machine maintenance – disassemble and reassemble
  • Understanding air pressure and control
  • How to combine airbrush with manually applied make-up
  • Combining and mixing products/colours – understanding different ingredients
  • Applying airbrush techniques in foundation, contouring, blusher, eyebrows & eye shadows
  • Use of stencils and shields

Also available (information on request)

  • Refresher courses in Make-up for persons entering back into the make-up industry
  • Personal one-on-one make-up application for those wanting to apply make-up to themselves. Learn a natural day look as well as a smokey eye for evenings.

HAIR STYLING COURSE

Introductory course for anyone wanting to be a bridal and editorial hair stylist

Prerequisites:

No previous training required

Course date and duration:

MONDAYS x 7 weeks 10am – 4pm

(includes a basic hair kit and mannequin head)

  • Using tongs, GHD, Conical wand and Trizio

  • Classic upstyles- french roll, chignon and fingerwaves
  • editorial pony tails & quiffs
  • session hairstyling for editorial work

Hair mannequins will be provided by the school – no models are required.
Hair products used in class will be provided by MMM.
All participants are required to have their own hairstyling equipment. The school has hairstyling equipment available for purchase at a discounted student price if required. List of requirements given upon enrolment.
